About us
A craft story that began in 1989
Scatolificio Tomas was founded in 1989 as a small family-run craft business by two partners who already had experience in the paper and board industry.
Since 2001 we have been based in the industrial area of Monte Urano (FM), a few kilometres from the Porto Sant'Elpidio exit of the A14 motorway, in the most industrial part of the Tenna river valley.
We make all kinds of packaging and stand out for quality and price, thanks to our experience and our production lines. Our other strength is punctuality: we deliver with our own vehicles and rely on skilled staff at every stage, from design to production.

Our mission
We are a family company making boxes in corrugated, die-cut and laminated cardboard, plus packaging accessories, with carefully chosen materials. We tailor sizes and quantities, even very small ones, and recommend the best solution. Before every job we make a sample, so you can check the size and quality of what you ordered.
Production
Made-to-measure production, from small to large runs
Our box factory has automatic machines that make us competitive for small, medium and large orders, including special packaging. We work with several types of corrugated cardboard:
Double wall
Corrugated cardboard with two flutes, made of three flat liners alternating with two fluted layers. Stronger than single wall, it handles medium-heavy loads and stacking: ideal for boxes for heavy goods or for shipping.
Micro triple
A thin version of triple wall, with very small stacked flutes. It combines stiffness with low thickness: ideal for compact boxes that need to protect their contents well.
Micro flute
Corrugated cardboard with a very small flute and a smooth surface. Light and thin, it is perfect for die-cut boxes, wedding favours, ceramics and packs where looks matter too.
Laminated micro flute
Micro flute laminated with a sheet of offset-printed paper. It gives a polished look and high-quality print, great for display and gift boxes.

Made to measure means less filler
A box of the right size leaves less empty space: you need less filler (bubble wrap, paper, polystyrene) and your product moves around less in transit.
Quality control
The different units of our production department let us serve customers even for very small quantities and a wide range of sizes. We constantly update our production lines and check both work in progress and the finished product. We are members of the Italian Box Makers Association (ACIS) and work with GIFCO.

Environment and regulations
Certifications and compliance
Recyclable corrugated cardboard packaging that complies with Italian and European packaging rules.
Our boxes are made of corrugated cardboard, identified by the code PAP 20 (Decision 97/129/EC). They are single-material and go in paper and cardboard recycling: always check your local council's rules. On request we print on the box the environmental label required by Italian Legislative Decree 116/2020.
CONAI and the Environmental Contribution
We are members of CONAI, the Italian National Packaging Consortium that organises the recovery and recycling of packaging in Italy. The CONAI Environmental Contribution on paper and cardboard packaging is paid where due, as shown on the invoice.
GIFCO
We are members of GIFCO, the Italian Group of Corrugated Cardboard Manufacturers, which brings together Italian corrugated cardboard producers and promotes quality and sustainability.
ACIS
We are part of ACIS, the Italian Box Makers' Association, which brings together Italian companies that turn corrugated cardboard into packaging for every sector. Find out more at associazionecis.it.
EPR and packaging compliance
EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) makes packaging producers responsible for managing their packaging at the end of its life. Through our CONAI membership we fulfil the EPR obligations for packaging placed on the Italian market.
Shipping food: no direct contact with the cardboard
Our corrugated cardboard boxes are for packing and transport, but they are not made for direct contact with food. If you ship a food product, the food must be already sealed in its own packaging, for example a bag, a tray, cling film, a jar or a bottle. The box is only the outer packaging and protects the pack during the journey.
For example, loose fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, cured meats or sweets must first be wrapped or placed in a food-safe container, and only then put in the box. Not sure how to pack your product? Contact us and we'll recommend the right solution.
PPWR declaration of conformity
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR) requires packaging that is recyclable, kept to the minimum necessary and free from hazardous substances. Our corrugated cardboard boxes are designed to these criteria and, on request, we provide the declaration of conformity: write to us at info@scatolificiotomas.it.

Less empty space, more safety. Made-to-measure box for collectible and graded cards: the card stays put and the empty space inside is kept to a minimum, so you need less bubble wrap. Double safety comes from the box with its inner sheet and the outer sleeve that closes everything. The flat format suits couriers' printed labels. Ideal for sending 10 cards to PSA for grading, and customisable for sending a graded card to your end customer.

Less bubble wrap by reducing empty space
With less empty space there is no air left to fill: a single sheet of bubble wrap is enough.

Closed, it is flat and compact: the smooth surface of the sleeve takes the courier's printed label well.
